Kiu,
No. I don't like the flare in this shot, as it adds nothing. Additionally, the horizon is crooked, but but not enough that it appears to be deliberate. |

rbsinto wrote:You are right about the crooked horizon, a hit and miss when you are on a boat! This one came out a little better but not perfect either: Or one can resort to a Nikon FM3A and 35cm f4.5 Nikkor mounted via N->F adapter: I had to cheat and modify this last image, it's overexposed.

I don't like it in this particular shot; but I have a few shots that the flare really adds to the photo.
But overall- especially with an RF camera, it tends to mess things up. I just painted the blades on 4 Menopta/Helios-103 lenses to reduce flare. |

I like the flare in this shot:
It is from a test roll with a J-3 in LTM. I replaced the very damaged front element of a 1959 lens with one from a 1986 optics module. Came out very good. I composed this shot just for the color, and to show the Bokeh of the J-3 to the person that asked me to repair the lens. This is my "flare test", let the sun hit the lens. |
