I'm considering a Voigtlander 25mm f/4 for use with my Nikon S2. Only $389, including viewfinder, makes it very tempting.
Anyone tried it (or some of the other current Voigtlander SC lenses)?

I've shot with the CV21/4, CV25/4, CV28/3.5, and the CV 50/1.5. Not a bad lens in the bunch. They all perform very nicely. The viewfinder that comes with
the CV 25/4 is a pleasure to use too. The only downside is they don't have "Nikkor" written on them. but that's easy to live with.

I have a CV 21 mm SC Skopar plus a Bessa R2s.
The CV 21 have been used a lot with my Nikon cameras - I am really pleased with the result but the main reason to buy it was that I have not found any Nikon lens shorter than 35 mm so far and a 85 mm Nikon is first on the list. The CV 21 was affordable and good. As to the Bessa I must admit that I have not used it much after the first couple of test rolls. I guess there is nothing wrong with it but I just don´t have the same feeling about it as my Nikon cameras. The TTL measuring is of course great but a VC II meeter with my Nikon rangefinders works well too. Jon |

I use a VC 25/4. Great lens. Really nice viewfinder. Good price.
It produces crisp photos, and the multicoating gives the pictures a very modern look. I also have a Zeiss Biogon 21/4.5, but I was never in love with that focal length ... 21 is just a little too wide for me, with too much distortion on the edges. But my 25mm shots all look much more natural. Many people prefer the 21mm focal length, but I find it's much more of a specialized lens, whereas the 25mm is more general purpose. The Nikon-S version of the VC lens is rangefinder coupled, which is another nice feature. It also focuses very smoothly with the Nikon RF focus wheel. |

I have both the CV 35 and 21 but use the 21 much more for street photography. This is probably because by pre-metering and then setting the lens to hyperfocus,
with so much depth of field and such a wide field of view I'm able to shoot without even looking through the viewfinder, yet know everything will be in
focus, and I'll get the entire scene. Both "The Beggar on Spadina" and "Keeping in touch on Queen Street", posted in Pictures Talk were
shot with the 21 using this technique.

I have been resisting a 21 for a while now!
