Nikon S2 Rangefinder w/Box, Instruction Manual, Camera Case and Straps. Model made 1954-1958. This one purchased by original owner (whom I know personally) in Japan in 1955. First Nikon model with 24X36mm film gate. Popular photojournalist camera. The most popular Nikon rangefinder model.
SN 6174700
Rewind knob carries "EP" in diamond indicating camera was intended for Post Exchange (US service personnel) market (scarcer model). Shutter curtain is fine. Camera and lens look sweet (see pictures). Happy to answer any questions or provide additional photos if needed.
Includes Nikon Rangefinder Lens 5cm (50mm) f/1.4
SN 381741
Distance scale marked in feet (versus normal meters) indicating destined for Post Exchange market (matches camera which is an "EP" and was purchased at same time - scarcer model). Lens comes with original leather case (excellent condition). Lens comes with original push-pin front cap marked with "Nikon" and original rear cap. Comes also with Kenko SL 38 3C KH1/18 UV filter for the 5cm lens.
No discernible dents or brassing. All functions work. I've put a roll of film through it, and though I haven't had the shutter speeds tested, they sound correct and the exposures came out fine. Note that I also have the 2.8cm (28mm) f/3.5 and 10.5cm (105mm) f/2.5 lenses along with their original cases and finders for sale in separate auctions, as well as a set of Walz "Nikkor" filters that came with the entire kit.
The camera case is worn: rear snap broken out and some stitching coming apart. Additional straps (both the correct one as well as a couple of replacements, one of which is leather and marked with "Nikon") are included.
Box is okay, not broken. But does have some wear as shown in photo. Included is original instruction manual (pretty neat).
Paypal and money orders okay. Personal checks okay too, but held till clear. BIDDING/SHIPPING TO US ADDRESSES/BIDDERS ONLY. No exceptions (once was enough). Shipping/handling of $20 includes insurance.

What do you think?
Will they break the $2000 barrier this year?
