Looking for Macro

I'm looking to upgrade from my coolpix 4800 but the one I really liked, the coolpix S550, has pretty bad macro compared to my old 4800. The S600 is the
best one I've found so far, I think it was 1.2 inches, which is still not as good as my 4800's 0.4 inch. So whats with the downgrade in macro quality,
or will the more then double megapixels make up for it? Which compact camera has the best macro? Thanks!
