Standard 50 mm

Friends;

My standard Nikon 50 mm lens in S-mount is gradually giving up after too much wear and tear.... I have the CV 50 mm and also (on it´s way from Japan) the new Zeiss 50 mm but it feels wrong not to have a good 50mm Nikkor lens to use...

Anyone in this forum with too many 50mm lenses - if so please let me know!

Looking for Macro

I'm looking to upgrade from my coolpix 4800 but the one I really liked, the coolpix S550, has pretty bad macro compared to my old 4800. The S600 is the best one I've found so far, I think it was 1.2 inches, which is still not as good as my 4800's 0.4 inch. So whats with the downgrade in macro quality, or will the more then double megapixels make up for it? Which compact camera has the best macro? Thanks!

I notice that nikonhswebmaster has hung up the "archive" shingle for his Avatar and deleted most of his threads over on RFF. Things had seemed to be calmer. I got "annoyed" at Fred's Krylon and SP Avatar coming up whenever he saw my Black NKT Logo from my Nikon F. I kinda got the feeling he thought I was showing a re-painted camera. Things seemed quiet after that. So what happened? Is RFF just becoming another Leica Forum ala Photo.net?

This is the earliest known example of the 8.5cm finder, OK may be not the EARLIEST but amongst the earliest examples. Note the serial number around the eyepiece.

I think it suffers from a lack of direction because it is neither as rigorous a Collector/Gear site as The Nikon Historic Society, Rangefinder Forum, or the Manual focus and Rangefinder forum at Nikonians, nor is it populated with as many high-calibre photographers as one usually sees at any number of photo-driven sites. New Voigtländer lenses

Hallo!
There are two new Voigtländer lenses - SL Series II 40/2 & 58/1,4.
Anyone having tested any of those and if so what´s your opinion.... any reason to go for a new Voightländer lens instead of for example a Nikon 50mm AIS lens ??
